Downloading source tarball is broken

Clicking on "Source code (.tar.gz)" beneath "Downloads" results in a white screen of death.

Error message from the logs:

java.nio.file.NoSuchFileException: DOWNLOAD_DIR/USER/FILENAME.tar.gz

It seems that the USER sub directory is not created properly.
